Tibia quests - the past

Quests in Tibia did not looked the same all the time. I do not know how it was at the very beginning but I can tell how quests looked like when I started playing. Firstly…

…quests items spawned at the daily basis, same as every other items. So, if you wanted to get a quest item, you had to be really quick, because few minutes after server save you usually weren’t able to get a quest item(s). Why? Because other players also wanted to get something special, hence they were all logging in at the same time and trying to get the item(s) only for themselfs.

I remember well the port in Carlin and the key in a barrel. Well, it was a really easy quest – just get the damn key from the barrel. But if have to face other players in a race to get that item, this quest did not seemed to be that easy after all. Overally, if you were quick enough, you could gather lots of these quest items and have, for example, 10 keys to Carlin crypt. Can’t say that I had that ammount… : )

Tibia has changed over time, and so did the quest system. Now there is a rule that everyone can get their quest item, yet only once. I must say that on the one side I appreciated that – finally I was able to get something, that before would take me ages (or even eventually I would never get it), but on the other side – well, no more fast logging in after the server save, and no more fun in getting those quest items. Even though the quest system that is nowadays is way better than the old one…

Oh, and some Tibia quests looked different back in the old days. For example, the Desert Quest had different prizes. The Paradox Tower quest items were different as well. Not to say that some quests at Rookgaard were possible to make, such as the one to get the Scale Armor… what? I do not know anything ‘bout that, I’ve only heard something from the old stories! : )
